Our Story
Today our chapter has over 100 members and is growing. We are a sisterhood of women from various communities that include Worthington, Dublin, Westerville, Columbus, Powell and many more. Our members come from diverse backgrounds and have various interests. Together we have a common bond of lineal descents from Patriots of the American Revolution. |
National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a women's service organization founded on October 11, 1890, with a focus on historic preservation, education, and patriotism, to honor the patriots of the Revolutionary War. The DAR, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, volunteer, women's service organization.
Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible. Documents to prove lineage may include certificates for birth, death, and marriage, also military service for the patriot. Our DAR chapter will assist you! DAR Genealogical Research System is free at DAR.org. In Ohio, free genealogical resources can be found through the Ohio History Connection website. |
